A B2B/B2C online platform for Ontario small businesses
I have not been on here for awhile. Life, with the family has been extremely busy. I find that when things get hairy I always put my business on the back burner. There are classes I have to teach but as far as marketing well, that takes a back seat.
I think the best way for me to keep my business a priority is to write down everything I have to do in my planner. Not just appointments, but everything. Including time on the computer to market myself.
I wrote an article some time ago. Entitled "Focus". It talks about how those of us who work from home can go to working, then to cooking dinner, then to playing taxi driver then back to work again.
I think I better read that and get back in the game.
Until next time!

Comment by Wendy on July 27, 2011 at 11:07am Here we are half way through the summer. Sorry, I hope I havn't depressed you. Or maybe you're a little excited for September because the kids will be back to school and your regular routine will begin.
If the past is any indication of my near future, I will soon feel overwhelmed by the kids being home, my schedule changing and all the extras I need to do because the little darlings are home will soon fluster me. We must stay focused and we must appreciate the season and everything it brings.
Soon the kids will be back to school and we won't have the pleasure of being with them as often. Enjoy your children while they are home. Take this opportunity to teach them responsibility. You are busy. A child at any age can chip in and help out around the house. Even one hour a day, depending on the age of your child will help you out tremendously and will teach them life skills which is so necessary for adulthood.
I find that when I do feel overwhelmed it's because I am not focusing on the task at hand. This is something I am mindful of and really need to work on constantly.
While working I need to keep my mind on work. Not the dishes in the sink or the laundry. While cleaning the house, that's what I need to focus on, not work. When spending time with my family I need to totally embrace each one and enjoy my time with them. I definitely don't want to think about work or the mess in my house then.
Try to stay focused on the task at hand, whatever it is you are doing. You will get much more accomplished if you can master this.
I want to give you a little something to think about. September is coming. If you are the type of person who only thinks about fitting exercise into your schedule or might start an exercise program only to stop in a few short weeks I want you to think about how you can now, this coming September finally succeed.
I have my clients think about what they have done in the past, some over and over again that has not worked for them. Then I ask them not to do that anymore. I ask them to be realistic with the time they can spend on exercise 3-4 times a week. If it's only 15 minutes then we really can work with that. Then I have them think about what they like to do and to write down any exercise equipment they already have in their home. However if a client has no exercise equipment at home, we can work with that too. There really are no excuse not to exercise.
Next I have them write all this down. The important thing here is to be realistic. If you have 3 kids, work full time and have a husband that works shifts then getting to the gym is probably not going to work for you. Again, being realistic and honest with yourself if key.
Vist my website at http://www.yakshealthylifestyles.bravehost.com to view some exercises that you can do at home.

Do you suffer from arthritis, osteoporosis, bad back, shoulder or joint problems OR do you have a loved one who does?
My name is Wendy. As a personal trainer I have had the privilege of working with the elderly for the past number of years.
Often physiotherapy helps us. The problem is that we do not continue with the exercises at home during or after physio therapy ends.
But you must. I would love to come and help you with exercises you have already been given and maybe add a couple more that will help with your recovery.
I would be happy to come into your home or you into mine and help you to get moving. No exercise equipment is necessary. If I feel you should be using some weights or exercise bands I will provide them for you.
For more information on exercise classes throughout the city please contact me at 519 484 1120
